It has been 26 years since Dave and I said our I do's - who would have guessed how things have changed!

I remember the day that Dave asked me to marry him. For those of you that know him, it won't be a surprise to know that he was working on a car when he popped the question! Our wedding day, was glorious!

We have started a business, bought a business, bought 2 houses, went out of business, had 3 boys, and served in 4 churches.

I would love to say that everything has been perfect, it has not! However God has sustained us!

When you are standing there in front of many friends and family members, do you really comprehend what you are saying? Or are you just thinking about the honeymoon?

As we said our very traditional vows, better or worse and in sickness and health just seemed like words to us at the time.

Life was good! I loved my job in advertising, Dave loved working on cars. We traveled, we rode motorcycles, we loved taking drives on Sunday afternoons, loved lazy afternoons on the boat, we both water skied and being on the water, yes, God had blessed us with a great life!

Now, here we are 26 years later! I am in a wheelchair, our boys are 18, 16, and 14. We don't always feel like God has blessed us, sometimes we have to look close or be reminded by friends!

I am no longer able to work, Dave is now an instructor to post high school students on how to work on cars, we very rarely travel unless it's to a soccer or hockey game. I am not able to ride with Dave on his motorcycle, there are no more lazy afternoons on the boat and I am not able to water ski!

But, my cup is full! I love my boys, I still love to laugh and yes
Life is still good!

As psalms 16 says "my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices"

So 26 years ago I may have not really thought much about my vows, but how glad am I that God was there and he has sustained us all these years - many more to come!
